Program Fees:
The Borges Family Way Offers housing, education, daycare, transportation, and counseling to our single parent participants. Therefore, our participants will be required to pay a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly fee (depends on when your pay day falls) for program services. Participants will pay 30% of their household's income. This fee covers all services given.
The goal of the program is to facilitate movement to self-sufficiency through individualized supportive services.
The following classes/workshops are aimed at self-empowerment, improved employment potential, increased opportunities for economic betterment, strengthened skills in the area of financial planning and family budgeting in addition to attempt to increase educational levels, and instill effective home management.
High School Diploma/ GED
Before a participant enrolls into the program, he/she must have a High School Diploma/GED. If not, The Borges Family Way will enroll him/her into a class.
Parenting 101
Parenting is the most important job you've NEVER been trained to do, yet it's hard work but you CAN enjoy the journey. This class is designed to help you become better parents and help your children become better adults.
Financial Literacy Workshop
The main purpose of this budgeting workshop is to help you to plan your finances so you can be in control of your money and have the tools to save enough to cover both known and unknown expenses.
Repair Yourself,
Repair Your Credit
This workshop helps our participants to understand their credit report, why it's important, how it's used, and to assist them in building positive credit history.
Beyond Poverty & Welfare
This class is designed to help families make better decisions that will help them in the long-term and break the cycle of poverty and dependence that have been known to last for generations.
Resume & Interview
Skills Building
This class teaches our participants the detailed explanations of the step-by-step processes for creating an effective resume. Also our participants will be taught how to articulate their qualifications for job interviews and how their values, interests, and goals match a potential employer.
